GROUNDIES® Urban Barefootwear autumn and winter

Keeping your feet warm - barefoot shoes in autumn and winter

Barefoot running in summer - obviously not a problem. Now that autumn is officially here, however, the question is: "Don't you get cold feet in barefoot shoes if it's windy and rainy?" There's no need to worry!

Freedom of movement = warm feet

GROUNDIES® are suitable at (almost) any temperature: thanks to the wide toe box, the design matching the shape of the foot, and their flexible material, your feet and toes can enjoy the same total freedom of movement as if you were barefoot. The feet can work as nature intended. As a result: the muscles of your feet are active, independent of the outside temperature. Your muscles produce heat as they move - your feet and toes will feel pleasantly warm.

Thanks to the thin GROUNDIES® sole, you can enjoy full contact with the ground, and you can feel the surface beneath your feet: shifting layers of earth, small stones, and rough patches. You can imagine all of this as a gentle massage for the soles of your feet. Like during a massage, circulation is stimulated, which helps to keep your feet warm.

You should avoid standing in one spot for too long when wearing barefoot shoes, however. If you don't move your feet and toes, cold will pass through the thin soles to your feet more quickly.

Get your shoes ready for cold weather!

Barefoot shoes made from leather and artificial leather are absolutely suitable for autumn and winter. The material of the upper protects the feet from cold and wind while remaining breathable. Our latest models come equipped with microfibre inner lining to provide extra warmth.

One thing you must always remember, particularly in autumn and winter: treat your shoes! Regular care and treatment will protect your GROUNDIES® from the weather and dirt while generally ensuring that they last longer, keep your feet dry and always look good.
